Wedding Marquee hire Scotland

A wedding marquee gives you the freedom to create a space that’s completely your own. Set in a garden, private estate, or open countryside, and designed around how you want your day to feel.

From intimate gatherings to larger celebrations of 200+ guests, we design and install marquees that feel spacious, well-planned, and effortless to enjoy from start to finish.

Every setup is tailored to your space and your plans, combining clearspan and pole tent structures with flooring, lighting, lining, and layout design to create a complete wedding environment, not just a marquee.

Creating your wedding space

One of the biggest advantages of a marquee wedding is the ability to design a unique space that's completely your own.

Marquee weddings can stand alone in any setting at a stately house, castle, farm or field or a marquee can perfectly make up for what your dream venue does not have weather thats a lack of indoor space or a stunning outdoor space you would be silly not to make the most of.

Layout

A great wedding marquee isn’t just about how it looks, it’s about how it feels to move through.

From the moment guests arrive, the space should feel natural and easy, with clear areas for dining, drinks, and dancing that all connect effortlessly. A well designed layout means no bottlenecks, no confusion just a smooth flow from one part of the day to the next.

To help visualise this early on, we create detailed layout plans including 2D and 3D designs, so you can see exactly how your space will work before the day arrives.

Comfort

Your guests should be able to relax, move around easily, and enjoy every part of the day without thinking about the practical side of things. Solid flooring underfoot, the right level of warmth, and a layout that avoids overcrowding all play a huge role in how the day feels.

For many weddings, discreet heating is used to keep the space comfortable into the evening, ensuring guests stay relaxed whatever the weather.

Whats included in wedding marquee hire

Every wedding marquee we provide is designed around your plans, your space, and your guest numbers, so no two setups are ever the same.

However, there are a number of key elements that come together to create a complete and well functioning wedding marquee. Our role is to guide you through these and bring everything together into a setup that works seamlessly on the day.

Marquee Flooring

A solid, level floor is the foundation of any wedding marquee.

It ensures everything from dining tables to glassware sits properly, while also creating a space that feels far more like a permanent venue than a temporary structure. This is especially important for guest comfort, particularly on grass or uneven ground.

Wedding Marquee Lighting

Lighting plays a huge role in how your marquee feels, particularly as the day moves into the evening.

Soft, warm lighting helps create atmosphere, highlight key areas, and transform the space from a daytime setting into an evening celebration. The right lighting setup brings everything together and makes the space feel inviting from start to finish.

Marquee Furniture & Layout

The layout of your marquee has a big impact on both the look and flow of the day.

From table arrangements and seating styles to bar positioning and dance floor placement, every element is planned around how you want the event to run. A well considered layout ensures the space feels natural, comfortable, and easy for guests to move through.

Marquee Heating & Comfort

Making sure your guests are comfortable is just as important as how the space looks.

Depending on the time of year, this can include discreet heating to keep the marquee warm into the evening, along with practical considerations like spacing and layout to avoid overcrowding. When these details are handled properly, everything simply works whatever the weather.

A complete setup, designed around you

Rather than offering fixed packages, we bring all of these elements together into a tailored setup that suits your wedding.

From initial planning through to installation, everything is designed to ensure your marquee not only looks the part, but works perfectly throughout the day.

Real marquee weddings

Marquee wedding, Summer borders - 2025

This wedding was held in a smaller garden with tight access, requiring careful planning to deliver a full marquee setup without compromising on space or finish.

The brief was to create a complete wedding environment including dining, bar, and evening space, all within a limited footprint.

We installed a clearspan marquee designed to maximise every available area, with one end fully opened using clear roof panels and panoramic windows to bring in natural light and create a sense of space.

Inside, the marquee was fully dressed with interior lining, warm lighting, heating, and crossback chair seating, creating a comfortable and refined setting for guests throughout the day.

A dedicated bar area and dining layout were carefully positioned to maintain flow, while an adjoining catering marquee allowed for a full dinner service without impacting the guest space. Luxury toilet facilities were also integrated into the overall setup.

Despite the constraints of the garden and access, the final result felt open, well-balanced, and seamless.

When the space was first revealed, the bride’s mother was visibly emotional, a moment that perfectly captured the impact of transforming a limited space into a full wedding setting.

Large pole tent wedding at Avonholm Estate, Strathaven

Set within the open grounds of Avonholm Estate in Strathaven, this wedding took place in June 2025, making full use of the wide, open space the venue offers.

Having worked at the venue before, we were able to design a setup that complemented both the scale of the location and the couple’s plans for a full marquee wedding experience.

The centrepiece was a 12m x 30m Celeste pole tent, creating a bright, open space with a natural, elegant feel. Inside, the marquee was fully fitted out to accommodate the entire day, including dining, a bar area, dance floor, furniture, and guest facilities.

With changeable Scottish weather in mind, we also planned ahead with a secondary marquee on standby. As rain was forecast, we put this into action. Installing a dedicated ceremony covering complete with white resin chairs and a sheltered canopy space.

This allowed the ceremony to go ahead comfortably outdoors, while still maintaining the feel of an open, outdoor wedding.

The result was a seamless setup that worked in all conditions giving the couple confidence in the plan regardless of the weather, and ensuring guests could enjoy every part of the day.

By the end of the event, the flexibility of the setup and the scale of the space made a lasting impression, with everything running smoothly despite the forecast.

Set in the rolling hills of Dumfries, this wedding was designed as an intimate garden celebration for under 100 guests, making the most of the surrounding landscape and views across a nearby lake.

The brief was to create a marquee that felt open and connected to the setting, while working within a space that had limited access and required careful planning.

We installed a 9m wide clearspan marquee, positioned to maximise the view and natural light. One end of the structure was fully opened up using clear roof panels, panoramic windows, and glass doors allowing the lake and greenery to become part of the space itself.

Multiple entrances were incorporated to improve flow between the marquee and the garden, ensuring guests could move naturally throughout the day without any congestion.

The result was a bright, open space that felt both sheltered and connected to the outdoors giving the couple the best of both a marquee and a natural setting.

By the end of the day, both the couple and their guests were blown away by how the space came together, with the marquee becoming a central part of the overall experience rather than just a cover.

Wedding marquee size & Layout considerations

As a rough guide, guest numbers are just one part of the picture, layout and the features you want to include often have a bigger impact on the space required.

Two weddings with the same number of guests can require very different marquee sizes depending on layout, features, and overall flow.

Layout & flow of the day

How you plan to use the space has a big impact on the size required.

For example, allowing room for guests to move comfortably between dining, drinks, and dancing areas will naturally require more space than a more compact layout. A well-balanced layout ensures the marquee never feels crowded, while still keeping a good atmosphere throughout the day.

Dance floors & entertainment

A dedicated dance floor can take up a significant amount of space within a marquee.

If you’re planning for a live band, DJ setup, or larger dance area, this will increase the overall size required. These elements are key to the evening atmosphere, but need to be properly accounted for when planning the layout.

Bar areas & additional features

Features such as bars, lounge areas, or extra seating all add to the overall footprint of the marquee.

Including these creates a more complete and enjoyable guest experience, but also means the structure needs to be designed to accommodate them without compromising space elsewhere.

Dining style & table layouts

The way your dining is arranged also plays a role.

Round tables, long banquet-style seating, and spacing between tables all affect how much room is needed. A layout that feels comfortable and well-spaced will always require more room than a tighter arrangement.

Designed around your space

Alongside guest numbers and layout, the available space at your venue is just as important.

Every site is different, so we design each marquee to fit the location as well as the event itself, ensuring the final setup works both practically and visually.
